I have just installed a bi-directional SATA – IDE adapter in my tower as a solution to the failing IDE hard drive.
I have connected this to the new 3.5" SATA hard drive but as there were no instructions included I am stuck as to what to do next.
Leads provided were for connecting the adapter to the hard drive and a power lead for the adapter. I have also connected a spare power lead I had for the hard drive.
On attempting to install Windows XP (it’s the only OS I have) I get the notification that “set up did not find any hard drives installed”.
Suggestions please as to what to do next.
