Win7 Backup HDD Question

Howdy how people...



Now then, I have a spare 320GB WD Scorpio Black HDD in my machine that I will be using to backup the comptuers OS, would it be possible for me to make a 50GB hidden partition on this drive (using windows) and save the backup to it?
