MSI motherboard not bothering to boot Hard Drive

Hey guys.

So my friend had a computer problem (they downloaded a dodgy thing which I uninstalled). After uninstalling, the computer restarted, and now it doesn't even bother trying to load Windows. I've tried reinstalling Windows and everything, but it's not bothering to work.

I'm pretty sure the motherboard is being the issue, due to the ability to load a USB stick to install Windows (four times now), with the Windows install process identifying the hard drive, and it formatted it every time to the correct amount free.

When there isn't a USB stick/DVD for the Computer to boot from, it will instead boot up something it calls "UEFI: Built-in EFI Shell", which seems to be some kind of command-line interface that I don't want to pretend to understand.

On the boot menu, there is an option for the hard drive, even giving it a name (something like ST3500418AS), but on the Boot Override menu, the only thing that appears is the EFI Shell thing, along with a USB stick if it's plugged in. Before, this list also contained the Hard Drive, but it doesn't any longer.

Any help is appreciated!
