Dependant PhysX Processor?

Hey Guys,



Wondering if it worth buying a GPU just to run PhysX now I don't mean I'm gonna buy a GTX 980 just for PhysX so something affordable. Also if I use an MSI Radeon R9 280 would the Radeon card and Nvidia card be compatible?
